Tractor Pulls
Tractor Pulls Antique tractor pulls are held as part of both the Sring Fling Weekend and the fall Steam-O-Rama. This year the pull will be held starting at 5:00 P.M. Friday, October 3. Weigh in begins at 3:00. Tractors must be manufactured by 1960 or older. A full set of pull rules can be obtained by sending a SASE to E.A.S.E.& O.E.S., P.O. Box 652, Red Lion PA, 17356. Hook fees are $10.00 and a yearly $5.00 membership will be imposed on each puller for insurance purposes. Juvenile pullers are allowed, accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Society reserves the right to eject any puller for unsportsmanlike conduct, use of alcohol or drugs, dangerous behavior or unsafe behavior. The ruling of the event chairpersons takes precedence over all others. All interested persons are invited to participate. Our Spring Pull will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2008.

Steam Engine Hill Climbs
The Steam Traction Engine was the first farm machinery to present multiple horse power at both the drawbar and the belt pulley. To see them still working today is a testament to good old Yankee Ingenuity. Steam-O-Rama annually attracts between 18 and 25 working Seam Engines. All are inspected by the state for boiler safety and their operators have attended steam school classes.

Steam Engine Hill Climbs There are several organized steam events at Steam-O-Rama. The first is the Steam Engine Games and Pull beginning at 6:00 on Saturday, October 6. Games include a Figure 8 Race, Gate Race, Slow Engine Race, Tug of War (Engine vs. 25 + guys), Backing the Thresher, and the Blindfold Race. The evening ends with a Steam Engine Pull and a Sparks Show. Bring your lawn chairs to the track area for an evening of quiet tractors (except the whistles).

The Steam Engine Hill Climb was an idea used in advertising by the J I Case Mfg Co. They pictured a Case Steam Engine conquering a 45 degree incline. Steam-O-Rama hill climb is a 55 degree hill and the engines only go UP the hill. You will not see Steam Engines going down an incline front first, as that removes water from the crown sheet and can cause overheating and is very dangerous. Steam Engines are also belted to the Sawmill, the Thresh machine and the Baker Fan to make them work and demonstrate their power.

Engine Area
Engine Area For the engine enthusiast, there is a large area of gas engine displays that also includes working machinery belted to many engines, a working shingle mill demonstration, always several corn shellers and water rams, and a large building with huge gas engines on permanent display. In addition, there is a turn-of-the-century wood working shop with equipment run off a jack shaft and daily demonstrations. The shop sells a selection of lawn ornaments and doll furniture made right there.

Flea Market (spaces still available)
Flea Market Traditionally, our flea market attracts over 80 vendors to our flea market area in the very heart of our showgrounds. You will find almost everything there from handmade brooms and cedar baskets, to antique tools, glassware, and of course tractor parts. Crafts and kitchenware occupy equal space with garden supplies and old farm related literature. There is truly something for everyone in our flea market.

Kids' Activities
Kids' Activities Steam-o-Rama is a family friendly environment with plenty of fun for everyone. The kids will love the antique kiddie carousel and Tom Thumb Train. A little carnival atmosphere for the kids, without the big carnival prices. Both rides are operated daily for the kids and a few brave adults. In addition, there are Pedal tractor pulls on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and games with prizes for all kids present after the pulls are over. In the barn is a miniature circus setup with the big top and all the accessories. Kids are always free at Steam-O-Rama.
